Programme Synopsis

Single family offices (SFOs) come in different scale and sizes. They usually handle high-value assets, they are close knit and often informal in the way they are organised.  With the high-value assets they manage, it is crucial that some form of governance, process management and due diligence are carried to prevent fraud.  In this seminar by STEP Singapore, the speakers will provide insights on:

  • Identifying/ detecting fraud issues in a close knit organisation
  • Common red flags seen in the wealth management industry
  • Tracing of misappropriated funds through forensic accounting
  • Source of wealth corroboration and its challenges
  • Standard control framework and transactions monitoring
  • Disputes support in the case of fraud or misappropriation

Mr Frankie Leung
Managing Director, Disputes and Investigations
Alvarez and Marsal


Frankie Leung is a Managing Director in Alvarez & Marsal’s Disputes and Investigations team in Mainland of China and Hong Kong SAR. He brings over 20 years of forensic accounting experience and specialises in corporate investigations and compliance issues. His experience covers fraud and bribery investigations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) reviews, compliance assessments as well as distributor and supplier audits.

Mr. Leung has undertaken investigations involving employee fraud and kickback schemes, commercial bribery, management fraud, asset misappropriation, alleged breaches of the FCPA, financial statement manipulation, and internal control reviews on behalf of MNCs with business operations in China. Mr. Leung also provides recommendations to multinational clients on risk assessments, compliance review and testing, vendor selection, monitoring programs and integrity due diligence. Mr. Leung is a Fellow Member of the HKICPA and CPA Australia, he is also a member of the Hong Kong Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Mr Jon Nicklin
Senior Director, Disputes & Valuation
Alvarez and Marsal


Jon Nicklin is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Shanghai and brings over 18 years of experience in valuation and forensic accounting. His primary areas of concentration are quantum expert witness work, but has also worked on FCPA / compliance investigations, personal injury, business interruption, and due diligence. 

Mr. Nicklin has worked with clients across a range of industries, including automotive, life sciences, leisure and tourism and energy, mainly in Greater China.  He earned a BSC in Ecology from University College London (UCL) and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and a Chartered Fraud Examiner (CFE).  A British national, Mr. Nicklin is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Mr Ng Teck Wee Keith

Keith Ng is Director at Harneys Fiduciary. He brings more than 20 years of experience in administering complex trust structures across multiple jurisdictions, with a strong emphasis on Singapore. 

Keith began his career in 2004 and has since developed a strong reputation for his expertise in cross-border trust solutions, restructuring matters, and contentious trust issues. He has worked extensively with Asian private clients and has a nuanced understanding of the cultural values and dynamics that shape Asian family wealth and succession planning. 

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, Australia, and professional qualifications including the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management and an Advanced Certificate in Trust Services from the Wealth Management Institute in Singapore.
