Programme Synopsis

OECD’s International Compliance Assurance Programme and the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore’s Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme are just the tip of the ice-berg on the trend towards self-compliance. Tax authorities are also exchanging information, not to mention the adoption of technology by the authorities speeding up the pace of integrating information to draw a more comprehensive understanding of taxpayers’ activities globally.

There has never been a more urgent time than now to ensure international businesses are on top of their tax affairs and it begins by getting a grip on tax governance. Join us in this upcoming live webinar helmed by the Deloitte team – Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax & GST) Ms Sharon Tan, Partner, Mr Andreas Kirsch, Tax Director from Deloitte Singapore and Mr Rakhim Mirzayev, Tax Director from Deloitte Australia, as they look into the structure of tax governance comprising the necessity, elements and operationalisation of tax governance.

Come and understand how tax professionals can rise above the din of never-ending developments to better structure and leverage the tax function as a true strategic business partner.

Programme Outline

  • Gain a better appreciation of the implications of tax transparency and co-operative compliance coupled with technology adoption by authorities
  • Know what the various international standards of tax governance are and the differences between Singapore’s and Australia’s standards
  • Understand the operationalisation of tax governance such as risk control matrix and the integration with the Enterprise Risk Management
