Programme Synopsis
It was announced in Singapore Budget 2021 that imported
low-value goods and
remote services will be subject to tax via the overseas vendor registration regime. Fast forward to end July and the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) has published e-Tax guides on these topics. Soon, we will be exactly a year from the 1 January 2023 implementation.
Now is the time to get into the GST Act and gear up for the big kick-off of these rules. The Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP) has once again invited SCTP’s GST Committee Member – Accredited Tax Advisor (GST) Mr Richard Mackender, Indirect Tax Leader at Deloitte South East Asia – to walk us through the legislation, the IRAS guidance and to focus on the practical issues to help us know what it takes to get it right, for the start of this milestone change.
From knowing what is considered a low-value good and a remote service to the overall transitional rules, and from understanding what needs to be done to avoid double taxation to knowing how to ascertain the entry value threshold, this live webinar will give you the details you need to be able to advise your clients, employer, or parents, spouse and friends what you need. As usual, the robust Q&A segment rounds off the session to enable you to ask those difficult questions and check your understanding.
Programme Outline
- Understand what has been published in both e-Tax guides
- Grasp the various implications to know how to prepare for this change
- Discern what needs to be put in place and changes to be made in your current GST software in the run-up to the kick off of these new GST rules come 1 January 2023
